Privacy Policy

Last updated October 1, 2026

Stride Social ("we", "us") is a social running app for track clubs. This policy explains what personal data we process, why, and your rights under data protection laws such as the GDPR. Contact: troywoolfolk@stride-social.app.

1. Data we collect

  • Account data: email, display name, username, profile photo, optional bio, location, phone and sex (for segmented leaderboards).
  • Content you create: posts, runs and walks you log manually, photos, comments, likes, messages, calendar events and practice results.
  • Live-tracking data while you use Stream Run (GPS points), and step counts you record.
  • Strava data (only if you connect Strava): activity data for your runs — distance, moving time, pace, start date, activity name and best efforts (e.g. 1 mile, 5K splits) — and a basic athlete profile (Strava athlete ID, first name, last name and profile photo URL). We also store the access tokens needed to read this data. We do not store Strava photos.

2. Why we use it (legal bases)

  • To provide the app — feed, profiles, leaderboards, clubs, badges (performance of contract).
  • Strava data is used only to show your runs and personal bests to you and, if you opt in, to your clubs, the feed and leaderboards (consent).
  • To keep the service secure and prevent abuse (legitimate interests).

3. Strava data — sharing and consent

Runs imported from Strava are visible only to you by default. They are shown to other users (club members, the feed, leaderboards, Weekly Warrior and other rankings) only if you turn on "Share my Strava runs" in Profile → Strava settings. You can turn it off at any time and they are hidden from others immediately. Stride Social is not affiliated with or endorsed by Strava.

4. No AI use

We never send Strava data to any artificial-intelligence or machine-learning service, and never use it to train models, generate summaries, coaching or embeddings.

5. Storage, security and retention

  • Data is stored in our managed cloud database with encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest, and row-level access controls.
  • Strava data is cached for no more than 7 days. Unless you re-sync (or Strava sends us an update), Strava-derived runs older than 7 days since last sync are deleted automatically.
  • Other account data is kept while your account is active.

6. Disconnecting Strava and deletion

  • Disconnect any time in Profile → Strava settings, or revoke access from your Strava settings. On disconnect or revocation we immediately delete your Strava connection and all Strava-derived data.
  • You can delete your account and all data any time in Profile → Delete account; deletion is immediate. You can also email troywoolfolk@stride-social.app and we will delete it for you.

7. Sharing with others

We do not sell your data. We use service providers (cloud hosting, email and push notification delivery, payments) only to run the app. Strava data is never shared with third parties.

8. Your rights

You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to processing, and withdraw consent at any time, by emailing troywoolfolk@stride-social.app. You may also complain to your data protection authority.

9. Changes

We will post updates here and change the date above.
